About Us - The Company

Unable to find an institution or company which offered Photoshop classes for a reasonable price, Mel formed Point Shoot Play in July 2007 to cater for people in her same situation.  A novice herself, Mel approached Peta and Sara, who are skilled in photography, Photoshop and scrapbooking, to teach the classes.  Now the company employs three tutors to teach both photography and Photoshop classes, at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.  Point Shoot Play classes are currently hosted by 12 scrapbooking stores in the greater Brisbane area.

Under the guidance of our tutors, you can improve your photographic skills from learning creative and professional photo shooting techniques, to learning how to enhance your photos with Photoshop.  The classes are structured so that they are easy to follow, using non-technical language; ensuring you gain confidence in using the hardware and software.  The photographic techniques we teach will improve your ability to produce professional quality images as well as giving you greater creative freedom.

Please refer to the Photoshop and Photography Classes sections for details on the content and location of the classes we offer.

About Us - The Point Shoot Play Team
Melissa

Melissa is the entrepreneur and the business force behind Point Shoot Play.  Mel handles the administration and business aspects of the company; organising class bookings and fairs, other administration tasks and generally ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

As well as managing Point Shoot Play, Mel works full-time as an Accounts and Administration Manager for a local construction company. If that wasn't enough, she still finds time to run her two sons around to school and various sports activities. Mel is not one to sit still for very long!

Sara

Photography has always been a big part Sara's life. From the age of eight she can remember carrying a small 110mm camera with her everywhere and taking photographs of anything that caught her eye. Throughout her school life her friends and peers came to recognise her behind the lens of a camera. By senior year, Sara was school photographer and Junior School liaison officer for the school newspaper.

Sara's love of photography led to an interest in scrapbooking and more recently digital scrapbooking. She has been published in various Australian scrapbooking magazines and has recently been writing features articles for Scrapbooking Memories.

In January 2008, Sara started teaching Point Shoot Play’s new Photography Classes.

Drea

Andrea is a Photographer of 19 years, specialising in Children and Family Portraiture. Andrea was initially reluctant to move into Digital Photography, but once she did, a whole new world opened up and now she spends far too much time just playing on Photoshop! Even Andrea's seven year old son, Cooper, is addicted to Photoshop and creating art with his photographs!

When Andrea discovered scrapbooking eight years ago she realised it was the perfect hobby for her. Andrea has many scrapbooking achievements; from being a Scrapbooking Memories Master, to being published in many magazines and to even her work being included in a scrapbooking DVD. Andrea has taught at numerous expos, conventions and scrapbooking stores. She loves to share her knowledge with others and ALWAYS learns something from the people she teaches! She brings a fresh, funky style to her work and her teaching.

From June 2008 Andrea will also be teaching Point Shoot Play’s new Photography classes.
