Ok, breathe, one week, just one week….  We are soooo excited..

We will be ready, the classes are going to rock…  We are just putting the finishing touches together for the Scrapbook Expo, next Weekend in Brisbane.

I believe there are a few places available for the Saturday and Sunday mid and afternoon classes with the morning classes booked solid, Monday is getting there, but isn’t full just yet.  If last year is anything to go by, all classes are booked by Sat AM..  So if you haven’t booked yourself into any of our classes (or any of the other awesome classes) do it this week…

I’ll be on Wacom Stand (stand #22) each morning, so come on over and say HI.  Wacom will have a few awesome specials on the Bamboo Fun and Intuos 3.  With each purchase, you will also receive  $10.00 off your next Point Shoot Play Photoshop class.  We have a few awesome discs available-be sure to visit and check them out..

Sara and Fiona will be teaching in Classroom 6, all day-so be sure to drop by the fishbowl and say Gday…  Andrea as well as teaching in Classroom 6, will be giving a few Free talks for Scrapbook Memories form 2pm..

Weekend Fun..

May 22, 2009

Happy Friday…

With the weekend upon us and the cooler weather, what a perfect way to dust of our keyboards and get in and try something new…  No matter what your level, when editing your photos, try 1 new or different step, be it using a clipping mask, a funky word art brush or throw on a texture and play with Blend Modes..  We would love to see what you come up with..

Here, i went ahead and edited with this photo of the lovely Andrea Thompson, 2 different ways-only problem is I love the results of both..

Don’t forget to check out our upcoming classes, June is going to be HUGE..  We hope to see you at one of our classes..

Go on have some fun… Happy Weekend Fun..

Photo Fun…

May 19, 2009

I find that I take photos for all the obvious reasons such as capturing memories for family, but I throw in a few non traditional reasons as well, one of them – being able to play and have fun while editing ..  To me this is my way to relax.  Give it a go, take a photo with the end result in mind, set it up and have fun.. (we would love to see your results-send them to mel@pointshootplay.com)

For great tips or somewhere to start, check out our very own Sara Pearcy’s latest article in Scrapbooking Memories Vol 11, No 3 – Funk Up Your Photos or join us at one of our Creative Playground Classes..

Sign Of The Times…

May 18, 2009

The day I had planned yesterday was completely turned upside down, which was a little disappointing, I had hoped to meet up with the Gysp from Scrapchat and Tanyah from Scrap & Craft with T at the Scrapchat Retreat at Warana…. A long story short, we headed out to Samford Historical Museum, run by a wonderful group of volunteers including Bev and Irwin Draper (here they are at a recent photography day held with A Creative Place)..

As we wandered through the exhibitions, the boys were drawn to an old telephone booth..  It compeltely blew both Don and I away that neither of the boys had used or seen a dial phone…  A sign of the times…

Over the Mothers Day Weekend we attended Don’s grandmothers 80th Birthday Celebrations which included a family picnic on the banks of the Maroochydore River on Saturday and Formal Lunch on Mothers Day.

The whole weekend was amazing, to see so many family members and meet some for the first time..  The boys loved meeting their 2nd & 3rd cousins that live all over Australia..
