Always having a camera with me or in my hand for work, makes me miss shooting for me…
In 2010, I gave myself a goal, I was to embark on a personal project and have completed for Christmas…
I am shooting a property that has fond memories and history for my family in particular for my father… I was to start shooting in June , I didn’t get there to early October – the wait was well worth it.
I need to go back and continue shooting, I have yet to confirm what editing style I will use for the entire project, I am enjoying the process of elimination though…I may have the project completed for Christmas, but i am enjoying the ride.
As I predominately photograph children, teens and families, to shoot landscape and buildings is taking me completely out of my comfort zone – all I can say is do it…
This is one of may faves so far -the best thing about this project, is it is for -so if no one likes it is ok – it’s not for them…

Time to time, we are asked to tutor children on how to take a better photo – the results can be amazing and seeing the sense of achievement of their faces in priceless.
This year I have had the pleasure of working the Xavier Children’s Support Network . The children have been working with both film and digital media, their “exhibition” for their family and friends is later this month – I hope to be able share a few of their works…
With photographing and teaching others, I hate, to say that I neglected my own… Last weekend saw our family, take a trip… This is alone was amazing to be away with my family, but to also see our boys interact with the land was amazing… Both our boys took to sharing one of my cameras to create their memories, I’d like to share the results below.
These images were taken by our boys -aged 9 and 12.
