Last year, two lovely clients of Meloo Photography suggested that I shoot their friends  wedding – I promptly advised that “i don’t shoot weddings” .  The beautiful girls persisted  advising me that the wedding wasn’t the run of the mill wedding and that Donna and Shaun like to do things outside the box –  I said that I would have a chat to Donna and Shaun.  When I first met with Donna, Shaun and their adorable little man Finn.  With the joy and warmth of their relationship I was completely in awe, as they spoke about the special day and their relationship, I knew I had to be a part of their day.   The more we chatted the more it felt like we where long lost friends catching up – that is the magic of Donna and Shaun’s relationship.

Last weekend Donna, Shaun and Finn celebrated their union in front of their family and friends at their family property – below are a few details from the day and some of our favourite images from their Wedding Portrait Session, prior to the ceremony.  The lovely Sara Pearcy joined me on the day -thank you Sara.

Thank you again Donna, Shaun and Finn for allowing us to be part of this journey…

I was hoping to start the New Year back with a post on Monday just gone with an adorable Newborn session I had and a mention of up coming classes that we have.

Come Monday afternoon with the news and footage of Toowoomba and surrounds, calls and emails to family, friends and clients to ensure their safety took front seat.

Tuesday and came, like others in Brisbane we went on with our normal day’s activities, with the rain not letting up, we knew something wasn’t right.  Kids collected from vacation care early, before the roads where closed and the creek beds broke.

Over the next few days we watch with aches in our hearts as Mother Nature, once again reminded us that we are not in control.  The people of Brisbane, QLD and the nation have set upped – so many have lost so much.

Below are few pages and sites that you may find useful with information on donations required, where to registered to help.

A few friends and I are also baking for the volunteers, if you have supplies that you would like to donate please let me know, including bottled water.

Point Shoot Play and Meloo Photography will be helping in our own little way with free sessions and images to the families effected directly with the floods as well as 100% of our booking fees being donated to the flood relief – if we would like to help or need assistance – please contact us  on either 0400 750 567 or email: mel@meloophotography.com

Only in Toowoomba… Last Thursday and Saturday saw me with Model Student  - our Senior Photography sister of Meloo Photography in Toowoomba.
Mother Nature decided that we needed reminding on the other 3 seasons in a span of 45 mins.
Thursday I was photographing the lovely Miss Sarah.  Sarah’s mum Michelle has been to a few Point Shoot Play Classes and was after something a little different  for Sarah’s pre formal photos.

Back in Toowoomba again on Saturday for a couple of shoots.  Happy to say Mother Nature was in a better mood.
First up was the gorgeous Ashleigh, mum Angella has also been to a few Point Shoot Play classes and being a talent designer for various Scrapbook companies was after something a little different to capture Ashleigh’s true essence with her pre formal photos.  For Ashleigh, we started at Toowoomba Station and finished up at my new fave field….

After Ashleigh’s whirlwind shoot -just before the rains came (for all of 10 mins :) )  it was time to Trash Miss Emma’s dress (not really mum – promise.)

First stop the field…

And then the water…

Thanks again for having me…
